Why are you alive?

Please pardon me for not posting on yesterday, things are pretty hectic at work with the school year winding down. Fill in the blank(s).... Life, is what we are alive to do _____ . You should be alive to conquer _____. As long as you have hope and focus on the 3 big E's 1-Educate, 2- Expose, and 3-Experience.  Don't be anxious about tomorrow, for tomorrow will take care of itself. Focus on today to be alive. This weekend spend some time finding and connecting with your purpose. Why was you created? Why are you alive? What are you suppose to conquer?  Share if you like.

What legacy would you leave?

Good Day Dolls,

What does dedication means to you? Often times people say they want to dedicate an award, a song, a poem, a building, so on and so forth to a person. The one thing we misconstrue is the persons efforts,  journey, and purpose you are dedicating to as well. Today, does my heart great sorrow to have lost a remarkable woman, Maya Angelou. We all have experienced her deeds visually as a poet, historian, educator, voice of contemporary literature, and actress, however, the most important deeds which was unseen was her tenacity, perseverance, commitment an loyalty. She was a rise of hope for all in her era, and the generation's after. We owe it to her to continue her legacy, and set a purpose and fulfill it. Lets become women of hope, resilience, and look at life through a lens of freedom to rise above race, color, sex, family, community, and opinions. When you leave the earth what legacy will you leave?

Are you a wise person?

I hope everyone had a safe and peaceful weekend. Are you a wise person? What makes a wise person a person of wisdom? The beginning of wisdom is to humble yourself and seek wisdom. A wise person will hear, and will increase learning. A wise person becomes a person of understanding and continue to attain unto wise counsel. Never think you have it ALL together, be confident in your purpose, and incline your ears to be guided by wisdom. I hope each of you today seek wisdom, it takes you a long way.

I am so happy for an up coming three day weekend. In honor of all those who have served in the U.S. Armed Forces, and died while serving.  I want to dedicate this post as well as Monday's post to you. I have several family members to serve and I am so proud of the sacrifice they have given to allow others to live and feel safe. I can only imagine it not an easy job being separated from loved ones and fearing for your life each moment being passed. We should all take time out to give back and find an organization and donate not only money but mostly used items as well, and you can always honor them and their efforts by keeping the world safe. Lets not let those who have died so we can live efforts be in vain. Lets all come together and love and appreciate one another and offer peace to all.

Have you heard " it takes a village to raise a child" before? Lets keep in mind that each person in the village has a unique personality, gift, expertise, and wisdom to offer. Learn from the village and learn from each member in the village. Whoever heeds to instruction is on the right path to becoming a life long learner. Those who reject reproof leads down the path of destruction. You choose which path.

How bright is your light?

Hey Dolls,

How bright is your light? Are you a light in a dark place? We all have a light we have to allow to shine. The question is are we allowing our light to shine? Be mindful not to allow anything or anyone to interfere or dim your light. Within all of us there is a city that is set on a hill that cannot be hidden. Just think of your light in this way, no one plugs in a lamp and put it under a blanket, instead if you put the lamp on the highest area of the house it will light the entire house up. In the same way, set you gifts and light up and light up a dark area. Keep in mind, as children we are born with a light the size of a candle wick, when we learn and gain wisdom our light becomes bigger and brighter. Today, allow your light to shine bright!

How much do you give to others?

Morning Dolls,

How much do you give others? Sometimes we have to put our own emotions aside and lend to others. Instead of looking to be consoled, console; rather looking to be understood, understand; instead of looking for love, love; instead of looking to be lifted, lift, it is always better to give than to receive. If someone is hungry offer food, if someone is thirsty offer a drink, and bear one another's burdens. Seek those who are in need and open your hands to your brothers and sisters. It is far better to have a bountiful eye than a stingy heart.

Choose Paths

Happy Monday Dolls,

Today, is one we should reflect on what trails/paths you are following and which trails are we creating?  What paths are you going down? Sometimes we look for other peoples paths to go down or to follow. Following other peoples path does not mean it the best path for you, or you would get the same results as the original path creator. Do not look for a path that is popular. Do not follow a path because of favoritism or because it is a relative. This simple means you should (sometimes) not go where you may see a path, instead go where there is no path and leave a trail for others to follow.

Earth Day with Friends of the Park

Happy Friday Dolls,

I thought I would end with this post. This year Pure and Sure partnered with Friends of the Park and Chicago Park District to celebrate Earth Day. We decided to give back by cleaning up Ogden Park, located on 6500 S. Racine. Words can not express the appreciation to all the volunteers who came out to support an awesome cause. The weather outside may have been wet and cold but I must say " we put in work".  A big hug to the over 40 volunteers to celebrated with Pure and Sure.
